PERAK NATIONAL CHINESE ORCHESTRA FESTIVAL 2024 RECORDED IN MALAYSIA BOOK OF RECORDS
27 December 2024 - Ipoh Mayor Dato' Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud attended the Perak National Chinese Orchestra Festival 2024, which was recorded by the Malaysia Book of Records as the Largest Chinese Orchestra Performance during a festival.
Also present were Menglembu Assemblyman Chaw Kam Foon, Dato' Sri Chooi Yoke Kwan and MBI Council Members.
The programme was very fitting as it aligned with UNESCO’s designation of Ipoh City as a City of Music.
MBI strongly encourages Ipoh residents, especially the youth, to hold music performances and introduce local music culture to friends at the international level via social media.
The MBI Councillors are also very active and always strive to promote Ipoh City with such programmes through collaboration with the IPOH CHINESE CULTURAL AND ORCHESTRA ORGANISATION,
This first-ever performance in Ipoh City was highly anticipated by the people of Ipoh.
With this Malaysia Book Of Record achievement, it will help Ipoh City promote the tourism sector and stimulate the local economy, as well as encourage young people to participate in healthy and beneficial activities.
Hopefully, the people of Ipoh and other organisations will be able to hold or organise similar programmes to attract more tourists to Ipoh City, and provide opportunities for Ipoh residents to introduce their arts and culture internationally, making them known worldwide.
