COURTESY VISIT AND PRESENTATION BY NATIONAL VISUAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT BOARD (LPSVN) TO MAYOR OF IPOH

IPOH, 8 AUGUST 2025 – Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah received a courtesy visit from a delegation of the National Visual Arts Development Board (LPSVN) during a meeting held at the Ipoh City Council (MBI) building.

The LPSVN delegation was led by its Director-General Amerrudin Ahmad, and accompanied by LPSVN Senior Curator and Corporate Communication Unit Head Mohd Zuriyadi Sarpin, Exhibition Division Curator Erry Arham Azmi, and Exhibition Division Assistant Curator Mohd Khazrul Shaharuddin. Also present at the session were Heads of Departments, Heads of Units and senior officers of MBI.

During the visit, LPSVN presented its strategic direction and plans for establishing the National Art Gallery Ipoh Branch, which is planned to operate at the Old Post Office Building, Ipoh. This initiative is expected to strengthen the visual arts and cultural ecosystem in the city, as well as being a catalyst for the development of art tourism in Perak.

In his speech, the Mayor expressed his highest appreciation to LPSVN for this strategic collaboration and reaffirmed MBI's commitment to supporting efforts to make Ipoh a leading visual arts and cultural hub at the national level.
