GALAU LIVENS UP THE NIGHT ATMOSPHERE AT AMPHITHEATRE@LAMAN SEJAHTERA
IPOH, 12 JULY 2025 – The weekend night atmosphere in Ipoh city was enlivened by the Melodi Bandar Raya Amphitheatre@Laman Sejahtera programme, featuring the “Galau” song genre as the main theme of this performance.
Organised by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) City Community Department, this fourth edition programme successfully attracted over 1,000 attendees from various races and walks of life, thus proving the enthusiastic response of Ipoh residents towards community arts activities.
Among the “Galau” songs that filled this emotionally fraught night were Pudar, Masing-masing, Menjaga Jodoh Orang Lain, Hijab Rindu, and Bukan Lagi Kita — all of which convey themes of heartbreak and feelings of loss that resonate deeply with the listeners.
Also present to liven up the programme was City Community Director Romzi Zamri.
The Melodi Bandar Raya Amphitheatre@Laman Sejahtera programme is part of a creative initiative under the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) programme for the music category, which supports community development through the arts and culture approach.
Previously, various other musical themes were also presented – Rock Never Die, Gema Warisan Budaya (GWB) 1.0, and GWB 2.0 – offering a diversity of musical tastes to the audience.
The organisation of such programmes not only serves as a platform for leisure entertainment but also opens up space for local artists to showcase their talents.
MBI remains committed to continuing this initiative as an effort to enrich the nightlife of Ipoh City with beneficial activities, while strengthening close ties among the local community.
