IPOH CITY COUNCIL LEVEL SCHOOL ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANLINESS AND HEALTH CAMPAIGN 2025

IPOH, 10 SEPTEMBER 2025 – City Secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak officiated the MBI Level School Environmental Cleanliness and Health Campaign held at the Operations Room, 2nd Floor, MBI this afternoon.

The campaign was held in conjunction with the World Environmental Health Day 2025 celebration and aimed to strengthen hygiene practices and raise awareness in schools around Ipoh. Among the main objectives of the campaign are:

  1. Raise awareness of food safety among students – Students need to be educated on choosing clean and nutritious food for their health and safety.
  2. Improve compliance of canteen operators with food preparation requirements – All food handlers are required to wear aprons, hats, shoes and practise contactless techniques when handling food, and use clean equipment.

  3. Empower the knowledge of food handlers in school canteens – Personal hygiene practices, specific knowledge in food safety and premises cleanliness management must be used as the basis for the selection of food handlers.

MBI extends its sincere appreciation to Chang Siew Yee, Food Technology Officer of the Kinta District Health Office, and the 3R (Canteen) teachers for their cooperation in making this programme a success.

A word of thanks to the MBI Public Health and Municipal Services Department for their hard work in driving this campaign with full commitment.

The programme secretariat also expresses its appreciation to all partners, including Kinta Utara District Education Officer Mohamad Zulkefli Ismail, Heads of Departments/Divisions/Units of MBI, Headmasters, teachers and all the Environmental Health Department staff involved.

Congratulations and well done to all parties for their effort, commitment and cooperation that made this campaign a success.

Hopefully, the organisation of this programme will be a starting point in realising the aspiration of Ipoh as a Smart and Prosperous City, and contribute towards achieving the Perak Sejahtera 2030 agenda.
