IPOH MAYOR EXPRESSES APPRECIATION TO CITY COUNCILLORS AT JASAMU DIKENANG CEREMONY

IPOH, 12 FEBRUARY 2026 – Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah expressed his highest appreciation to the Ipoh City Council (MBI) Councillors at the Jasamu Dikenang Ceremony held at the Ipoh Convention Centre today.

The ceremony was held as a sign of recognition for the service, commitment and contributions of the Councillors throughout their service with the Ipoh City Council.

In his speech, the Mayor emphasised that the ceremony was not just an official event, but a symbol of appreciation to individuals who have played an important role in strengthening the governance of Ipoh City.

“This occasion is not just an ordinary gathering, but a platform of appreciation and recognition for the Councillors who have devoted their dedication, energy and unwavering commitment throughout their service with the Ipoh City Council,” he said.

He also described the Councillors as an important bridge between the Local Authority and the local community, who always channel views, reprimands and constructive ideas for the well-being of city residents.

According to him, every policy and initiative undertaken by MBI would not have been successfully realised without the active role and strong commitment of the Councillors.

Throughout their term of service, the Councillors demonstrated balanced leadership, firmness in principles, prudence in approach and friendliness in relationships, thus becoming an example of leadership with integrity in the Local Authority institution.

The Mayor also acknowledged that this farewell is a great loss for the MBI staff.

“We may be able to continue our journey, but the memories with all of you will remain in our hearts. The contributions and services rendered will always be remembered,” he added.

He hoped that all the services rendered would be regarded as good deeds and rewarded accordingly by Allah SWT.
