IPOH CITY’S 38TH ANNIVERSARY CARNIVAL LIVELY
IPOH, 18 JUNE 2026 – The 38th Anniversary Carnival of Ipoh City was held in a lively atmosphere at the Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC) today.
The carnival, from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm, received very encouraging response from city residents, local communities and outside visitors who came with their families to enjoy various interesting activities throughout the day.
The carnival was held in conjunction with Ipoh City’s 38th Anniversary celebration with the theme “Uplifting Aspirations, A Smart City”. This theme reflects MBI’s commitment in strengthening the development of Ipoh as a city that is progressive, inclusive, prosperous and close to its residents.
Throughout the event, visitors had the opportunity to participate in a variety of programmes focusing on community, health, education, entrepreneurship and lifestyle.
One of the main attractions of the carnival was the Community Wellbeing Programme, which offered a wide range of free health screenings and community services. The programme received much attention as it brought together various government agencies, hospitals, clinics and strategic healthcare partners in one location to provide direct benefits to the community.
The Blood Donation Programme also received encouraging response when members of the public came forward to donate blood as a sign of social concern. This initiative has become a platform to raise awareness among the community on the importance of blood donation in helping to save the lives of patients in need.
The carnival also attracted the participation of youths and young professionals through knowledge-sharing and inspiration sessions, such as the Be Better Workshop with CuteCarry, and Gen Z Talk with MadNor. Both programmes opened up space for participants to gain new insights into self-development, communication, positive lifestyle and mental health awareness.
At the same time, the atmosphere around the ICC was enlivened by visitors flocking to the Pop-Up Market x Pekan Pop Up area, Food Street, Jualan Rahmah and the Big Bad Wolf Books Mini Roadshow.
Various local products, food, drinks, preloved items, handicrafts, accessories and reading materials were offered, thus providing an opportunity for local entrepreneurs and traders to expand their customer networks.
Coffee enthusiasts also took the opportunity to participate in the Barista Clinic and Latte Art Demo, which provided exposure to basic coffee preparation skills in a practical way. This programme was seen as having the potential to spark new interest among participants in the field of coffee-based skills and entrepreneurship.
The overwhelming turnout of visitors proved that the Ipoh City anniversary celebration continues to have a special place in the hearts of the community. This carnival not only served as a platform to celebrate the city’s development success, but also strengthened the spirit of togetherness between MBI, the local community, government agencies, strategic partners and the residents of Ipoh.
MBI would like to extend its highest appreciation to all parties involved, including government agencies, strategic partners, co-organisers, traders, programme participants, staff and members of the public who came to give their full support in making this carnival a success.
It is hoped that the organisation of this carnival will continue to be an annual platform eagerly awaited by the city residents, besides enhancing Ipoh’s image as a prosperous, dynamic, community-friendly and competitive city.
