PROCLAMATION CEREMONY OF SULTAN NAZRIN SHAH MARITIME POLITECHNIC

BAGAN DATUK, 20 NOVEMBER 2025 – HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah officiated the Proclamation Ceremony of Sultan Nazrin Shah Maritime Polytechnic (PMSN) in Bagan Datuk today.

Accompanying His Royal Highness were HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, HH Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa and HH Raja DiHilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Higher Education Minister Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry Abd. Kadir and Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.

At the full ceremonial event, His Royal Highness officiated the proclamation and signed the inauguration plaque before touring an exhibition showcasing the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) academic development, maritime technology innovations and students’ projects.

Mayor of Ipoh Zamakhshari Hanipah was also present at this historic occasion.

PMSN, the country’s 35th polytechnic, was established in December 2016 with the vision of producing highly skilled human capital in maritime engineering and technology. Its first student intake in 2017 via the Diploma in Naval Architecture programme made PMSN the only TVET polytechnic in Malaysia focussing on maritime and shipping fields.
