JOYOUS CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION AT LORONG SENI @ LORONG PANGLIMA, IPOH

IPOH, 14 FEBRUARY 2026 – The atmosphere at Lorong Seni @ Lorong Panglima, Ipoh was lively this morning with the 2026 Chinese New Year Celebration Programme organised by the Ipoh City Council (MBI).

The programme was officiated by MBI Councillor Dato' Ahmad Hariri Kamarudin. Also present to enliven the event were Councillors, Department Heads and officers of the Ipoh City Council.

The programme aimed to provide an opportunity for Ipoh residents to get to know the traditions and cultures of the various races in celebrating community festivals in this country, thereby strengthening the spirit of unity and harmony.

Various interesting activities were held throughout the programme, including Lion Dance and Chinese Drum performances in collaboration with Macha & Seni Market, performances by Gema Warisan Budaya MBI, an exhibition by former students of Bridge Club Ipoh and handicraft sales by local craft entrepreneurs in Ipoh City.

The Ipoh City Council hopes that the organisation of this Chinese New Year Celebration Programme can further strengthen the city residents’ understanding of the Chinese community’s traditions in celebrating this meaningful festival, besides fostering closer relationships among the local community.
