TOWN HALL SESSION FOR RESIDENTS OF HARMONI FLATS, BUNTONG
10 MAY 2025 – A total of 137 residents of Harmoni Flats in Buntong attended the Town Hall Session held this afternoon, organised by the Facility Management Department, Ipoh City Council (MBI).
Also present at the session were Buntong Assemblyman Thulsi Thivani a/p Manogaran, City Councillors Clr. Lawrence a/l R. Palanisamy and Clr. Sivam a/l Kalimuthu, MBI Facility Management Principal Assistant Director Kasturi Murugiah, and MBI Works & Buildings Principal Assistant Director Nur Aifa Farihah Mad Nor.
MBI has received an allocation of RM1.3 million from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) under the Housing Maintenance Programme (PPP). This allocation is for the repairs of ceilings and damaged public facilities, as well as related works in Blocks 1 to 10 and Blocks 21 to 26. It also includes upgrading the wiring of corridor lights, sub-main systems, and other related works in the housing area.
In the town hall session, MBI presented the work plans to be implemented so that residents received clear and comprehensive information about the scope and schedule of the maintenance project.
This session also provided an opportunity for residents to voice their views and feedback directly to the MBI and local elected representatives.
The discussion has given all residents an understanding of the project implementation.
For the record, MBI has previously received many complaints regarding ceiling damage, especially on the upper floors of the flats, which were often entered by pigeons. The repair works are expected to improve the level of safety, comfort and cleanliness in the housing area, besides enhancing and elevating the image of Ipoh City.
Hopefully, this town hall session will bring great benefits to all the residents of Harmoni Flats in Buntong, and serve as a catalyst for close cooperation between the residents and the Local Authority.
