VISIT BY THE KUALA SELANGOR MUNICIPAL COUNCIL DELEGATION TO IPOH CITY COUNCIL STRENGTHENS STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LOCAL AUTHORITIES
IPOH, 13 OCTOBER 2025 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) received a benchmarking visit from the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) delegation in an official visit that was held in a friendly and harmonious atmosphere.
The 35-member delegation was led by MPKS Secretary TPr. Mohamad Yusli Askandar, and was warmly welcomed by MBI Management Services Director Normala Latiff.
The visit aimed to learn about the implementation of Smart City Management practised by MBI.
The MBI Smart City Management administers, plans and provides city services using smart technology to improve efficiency, sustainability and the quality of life of residents.
The smart city practised by MBI utilises information and communication technology (ICT) and data to:
- Improve operational efficiency,
- Provide better public services,
- Enhance the welfare of Ipoh city residents,
- Promote sustainable development.
The briefing session was held at the MBI Operations Room and was delivered by Urban Planning Senior Assistant Director (Development Plans) Zulkefli Osman and Public Works Senior Assistant Director (Traffic) Izdihar Niszar Syafiq Sarlan.
MBI greatly appreciates such visits, which serve as an important platform for the exchange of ideas, knowledge transfer and sharing of best practices among Local Authorities (PBT). This initiative is believed to have a positive impact on the continuous efforts to improve service delivery quality and strengthen inter-agency cooperation for the well-being of the people.
The event concluded with a photo session and exchange of souvenirs between both parties, as a symbol of the close and ongoing cooperative relationship.
