KPKT COMPLETED 6,611 PROJECTS THROUGHOUT 2024, RECOGNISED WITH NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD
TAMBUN, 27 December 2024 – Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming (KM) officiated the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) Sentuhan Kejayaan 2024 Closing Ceremony in Tambun, Perak this morning. This programme was the conclusion of the Sentuhan Kejayaan Tour conducted by KPKT Departments and Agencies in ten locations since 1 December 2024.
The people's well-being agenda continues to be the focus of the Malaysia MADANI Government through KPKT with an allocation of nearly RM3.9 billion to implement development projects nationwide. This includes KPKT's main focus areas, such as the Local Government, Housing, Community Empowerment, Solid Waste Management, Fire Services, Urban Sustainability and Landscape Development.
Overall, Local Government projects were the most implemented nationwide in 2024, involving 6,611 projects with an allocation of RM993.73 million or nearly RM1 billion. This included 20 large-scale projects, 3,697 small-scale projects, 357 stall and kiosk development projects, and 1 PBT digitalisation project.
Meanwhile, 362 projects have also been implemented under the 2024 Budget Initiative, including 87 projects to improve the health level of stalls/small shops, 93 drainage and drain system projects, and 182 flood retention pond maintenance projects.
Furthermore, KPKT has also upgraded public infrastructure and built new ones in the Chinese New Village areas, involving 2,168 projects and 6 socio-economic development grants projects.
