PROSPEROUS SENIORS PROGRAM, AGE-FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES
17 December 2024-The Perak State Government in collaboration with the Ipoh City Council (MBI) and the Perak Housing and Real Estate Board as well as the Professional Association and Social Care Homes of Malaysia organized the Prosperous Elderly Program, Age Friendly Community this morning.
The program which took place at the Perak Urban Transformation Centre, (UTC), was officiated by YB Puan Sandrea Ng, Chairman of the Perak State Housing and Local Government Committee.
Also present at the program is Y.Bhg. Dato' Rumaizi Bin Baharin@Md Daud, Mayor of Ipoh and Tuan Mohamed Akmal Bin Dahalan, Chief Executive Officer, Perak Housing and Real Estate Board and Councilors, Officials from government and private agencies.
The Prosperous Elderly, Age-Friendly Community Program is a program that was held for the first time as a result of YB Puan Sandrea Ng's idea in line with the 11 indicator goals which are the goals of sustainable development, which want to make cities and human settlements comprehensive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
The organization of this program also aims to raise awareness about the safety of housing for the elderly, including those who are healthy and those who need special care.
The program that takes place in the morning and afternoon sessions features special panels that are experienced and will give talks to the participants who take part.
Hopefully, with a program like this, the participants will be able to know and understand the safety needs of the elderly in ensuring their lives are more secure.
