SHELL JALAN HOSPITAL IPOH (BAHAKHI PETROMART) CROWNED MAIN WINNER IN PETROL STATION CATEGORY OF KPKT BEST TOILET AWARD 2025
KUALA LUMPUR, 19 NOVEMBER 2025 – Shell Jalan Hospital, Ipoh (Bahakhi Petromart) achieved excellent success when it was announced as the main winner in the Petrol Station Category of the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) Best Toilet Award 2025 or TOTYA 2025.
This victory entitled Shell to receive a cash prize of RM20,000, a certificate of appreciation and a trophy. The award was presented by Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming to Shell station manager Bahakhi Mohammad, at a ceremony held at the Westin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur tonight.
The programme organised by KPKT was also attended by Councillor Clr. Lawrence a/l Palanisamy, City Health Director Manisegaran a/l Subramanian, Assistant Health Director (Trade and Vector Control) Faizalhawafiz Abd Wafar, representing MBI, local government representatives, strategic partners and public facility operators from across the country.
The BMW-standard cleanliness concept of Clean, Attractive and Fragrant (Bersih, Menawan dan Wangi) was the brainchild of the KPKT Minister himself. The TOTYA Award is KPKT’s annual recognition to appreciate premises that maintain the best standards of cleanliness, quality maintenance and public toilet facilities. Strict evaluations are conducted based on aspects of cleanliness, user safety, functionality of facilities and management’s commitment to providing high-quality amenities to the community.
The success of Shell Jalan Hospital reflects the operator’s continuous commitment in ensuring that public facilities at their premises are at the best level, thus supporting the government’s aspiration to strengthen the culture of cleanliness and high-class public toilet maintenance nationwide.
The Ipoh City Council (MBI) extends its highest congratulations to all Shell management staff for this proud achievement and hopes that this success will be a catalyst for more premises in the city to improve the standard of public facilities for the comfort of users.
