IPOH, 11 SEPTEMBER 2025 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) today received a courtesy call from the Tawau Municipal Council (MPT) delegation during an official visit that took place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

The 30-member delegation was led by MPT Information Technology Officer Ali Mohamad Samad, along with 17 MPT Councillors, and was warmly welcomed by MBI Councillor Clr. Lawrence a/l R. Palanisamy. The visit began with a briefing at the Ipoh Integrated Operation Centre (IIOC) by MBI Urban Planning Assistant Director Abdul Afiq Muhammad, who shared MBI's long-term plans to strengthen Smart City Management and the conceptual approach used in developing a more systematic and conducive work ecosystem. The IIOC is a smart operation control centre and is one of the key hubs for urban management in Ipoh.

MBI greatly appreciates such visits, which are an important platform for the exchange of ideas, knowledge transfer and sharing best practices among Local Authorities (PBT). This initiative is believed to have a positive impact on the continuous efforts to improve the quality of service delivery and strengthen cooperation between agencies for the well-being of the people.

The event concluded with a photo session and exchange of souvenirs between both parties, symbolising the close and continuous cooperative relationship.
