IPOH, 2 JULY 2025 – Bercham State Assemblyman (ADUN) Ong Boon Piow went down to the ground this morning to the Taman Seri Desa area to assess issues related to complaints about illegal farming, tree pruning, and damaged residential roads which have caused concern among local residents.
Also present during the visit were Clr. Ramesh a/l Subramaniam, Clr. Ng Haen Vee, Senior Director (Services) LAr. Meor Abdullah Zaidi Meor Razali, representatives of Ipoh City Council Department Heads and Puncak Emas Infra Sdn. Bhd.
The on-site physical monitoring results revealed several issues were raised by the residents, including:
- Incidents of fallen trees in the Recreation Park area
- Damaged roads around the Housing Garden
- Proposals for the installation of lighting at the Children's Playground and upgrading of the Pedestrian Walkways in the Recreation Park.
In this regard, MBI's initial action will be to carry out tree pruning in the recreation park area, posting of nuisance notices and road patching based on the annual allocation provided. Residents are also advised to comply with the nuisance notices on illegal farming.
This going down to the ground visit demonstrates the Council's commitment in understanding the realities at the community level and striving to find the best holistic solutions. Hopefully, this issue can be addressed in stages to ensure the well-being of the residents and support a more sustainable and balanced urban development.
