COOKING COMPETITION LIVENS UP IPOH CITY 37TH ANNIVERSARY CARNIVAL

IPOH, 21 JUNE 2025 – A total of 34 teams participated in the Cooking Competition in conjunction with Ipoh City 37th Anniversary Carnival, which was held in a lively atmosphere at Taman Dr Seenivasagam in Ipoh.

Of these, 23 teams competed in the Main Course category, while 11 teams contended in the Desserts and Beverages category. The competition was officiated by Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah.

Each team was given two hours to complete their dishes, which were judged based on creativity, taste, presentation and cleanliness. The top winners in each category received cash prizes, trophies, hampers, participation certificates, and sponsored items from the organisers and sponsors.

In the Main Course category, the Kuali Ukhti Squad team beat 22 other teams with a menu that successfully impressed the professional judges specially invited for the competition. The Kuali Onzz team took second place, and third place went to the Sweet Sisters team.

Meanwhile, in the Dessert and Beverage category, the DD Sisters team was crowned champion, followed by the Double A team and the K&B@Maneh team in second and third places, respectively. The DD Sisters team also won a special award for Best Decoration.

The competition was one of the main events of the Ipoh City Anniversary Carnival, which was held for two days starting from 21 June 2025. Various interesting activities were also organised, including Rahmah Sale, Picnic Setup Deco Competition, Barista Competition, Pop-Up Market, Sepak Raga Ratus and Tug of War tournaments, as well as City Melody entertainment performances.

The Ipoh City Council calls on all Ipoh residents and visitors from outside the city to come and celebrate this anniversary. A variety of relaxing, beneficial and family-friendly activities have been arranged to ensure that the Ipoh City 37th Anniversary is celebrated in a joyful and united atmosphere.
