MAYOR OF IPOH LEADS OVER 300 MBI STAFF TO STRENGTHEN MADANI-BASED SERVICE COMMITMENT AT PERAK STATE LEVEL JELAJAH TAAT SETIA MADANI PROGRAMME

IPOH, 5 NOVEMBER 2025 – Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah led more than 300 Ipoh City Council (MBI) staff in participating in the Perak State Level Jelajah Taat Setia MADANI Programme, as an effort to strengthen commitment to services based on the values of Malaysia MADANI.

The programme, organised by the Prime Minister’s Department through the Malaysia Nationhood Academy (AKM) at the Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC), was an initiative to strengthen the spirit of nationhood and commitment of civil servants in translating the Malaysia MADANI agenda at the local government level.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad. Also present was Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Datuk Seri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, who delivered a keynote address titled “Loyalty: Reforming the Public Service”

Meanwhile, State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim delivered the welcoming speech at the event.

The programme also featured a sharing session titled “The Responsibility of Civil Servants in Translating Malaysia MADANI” by Malaysia Nationhood Academy Director-General Dato’ Dr. Roslan Hussain. Also held was the launch of the Sahabat Penggerak MADANI video and Rahmah sales for participants and visitors.

The involvement of MBI staff in this programme was the best opportunity to strengthen the values of integrity, trust and commitment in serving the people, in line with the vision of “Ipoh Bestari Sejahtera” and the aspiration of “Perak Sejahtera 2030”.

Civil servants are the backbone in ensuring that government policies and services reach the people effectively. Therefore, the MADANI spirit must continue to be instilled to drive more efficient, effective and integrity-based service delivery.

MBI remains committed to playing a strategic role alongside the Perak State Government in developing Ipoh City as the country’s main tourism destination and a low-carbon smart city by 2030.
