PERAK MENTERI BESAR OFFICIATES KERIAN INDUSTRIAL CITY GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY

PARIT BUNTAR, 22 OCTOBER 2026 – Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad today officiated the Kerian Industrial City (KIC) groundbreaking ceremony in Parit Buntar, Perak.

Also present at the programme were State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee, State Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport Committee Chairman Datuk Seri Ir. Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, State Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee Chairman Teh Kok Lim, Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk) Chief Executive Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak and Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah.

The presence of the Mayor of Ipoh reflects support for the state’s economic development efforts that bring benefits to the people of Perak.

This project, under the PKNPk initiative, is being implemented in line with the aspirations of Perak Sejahtera 2030, specifically Flagship Programme 9: Investor-Friendly Programme. Developed on a 287-acre site with a gross development value of approximately RM700 million, the project is expected to create nearly 12,000 job opportunities, besides opening up space for local enterprises, vendors and supporting industries to grow.
