VISIT OF KAMPAR DISTRICT COUNCIL DELEGATION TO IPOH CITY COUNCIL STRENGTHENS STRATEGIC RELATIONS BETWEEN LOCAL AUTHORITIES
IPOH, 4TH AUGUST 2025 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) today received a courtesy visit from the Kampar District Council (MDKpr) delegation that was held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The 25-member delegation, led by MDKpr President Ahmad Suqairy Alias, was warmly welcomed by MBI City Management Services Director Normala Latiff. The visit aimed to foster strategic relations and share knowledge and experience, particularly related to the implementation of tourism management at Tasik Cermin, Ipoh.
Tasik Cermin, located in the Gunung Rapat area, is a natural lake formed from the collapse of limestone caves resulting from the remnants of quarry activities that were no longer in operation. The uniqueness of this lake lies in its clear waters and the dramatic views of the towering limestone cliffs, making this location one of the increasingly popular eco-tourism destinations.
As part of the visit programme, the delegation was also taken to Tasik Cermin 2, another new tourist attraction in the area that features a unique experience of walking through a 130-metre water tunnel, making it an exclusive attraction rarely found elsewhere.
MBI greatly appreciates such visits, which serve as an important platform for exchanging ideas, transferring knowledge and sharing best practices among Local Authorities (PBT). This initiative is believed to have a positive impact on the ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of service delivery and strengthen cooperation between agencies for the well-being of the people. The event concluded with a commemorative photo session and the exchange of souvenirs between both parties, symbolising the close and continuous cooperative relationship.
