IPOH MAYOR'S GOING DOWN TO THE GROUND (TURPA) PROGRAMME TO TAMAN MAJU RAPAT

IPOH, 20 JUNE 2025 – Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah went down to the ground this morning to the Taman Maju Rapat area in Ipoh, where residents frequently face flooding problems.

Also present during the visit were Council Members Clr. Azmy Mohamed Nazir, Clr. Muhammad Hamzah Md Hamdan and Clr. Mohamed Helmi Mohamed Fuzi, City Secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak, Senior Director (Technical) A’zman Mohd Harun and Heads of Departments of Ipoh City Council.

Investigations revealed that the surface of the drains was covered with sand, small plants and rubbish, causing water to stagnate. In addition, the inspection found concrete obstructions in the drains.

This going down to the ground visit demonstrates the commitment of the Ipoh Mayor and City Council in understanding the realities at the community level and striving to find the best holistic solutions. Hopefully, this issue can be addressed in stages to ensure the well-being of the residents and to support a more sustainable and balanced urban development.
