IPOH MUSIC SYMPOSIUM: NASYID CONCERT – FROM TRADITIONAL TO CONTEMPORARY
IPOH, 25 OCTOBER 2025 – Ipoh city resonated with the sounds of divine music through the organisation of the Nasyid Concert: From Traditional to Contemporary, held last night at the Ipoh Town Hall.
This special concert brought together a lineup of renowned Malaysian artists in the nasyid and spiritual music genres, including UNIC, Raihan, Hijjaz, Lah Ahmad, Azan Addin Ruffedge, Pot Amir Innuendo and Zizi Kirana. The event aimed to celebrate the beauty of nasyid music in various forms, from traditional to contemporary, while strengthening Ipoh’s position as a dynamic arts and culture centre.
The event was enlivened by the presence of Orang Kaya Kaya Panglima Kinta Seri Amar Bangsa Diraja Dato’ Ab. Wahab Azizul Hassan, State Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee Chairman Khairudin Abu Hanipah, Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah and Perak Islamic Religious Department Director Dato’ Harith Fadzilah Abdul Halim. The attendance of these distinguished guests signified strong support for efforts to empower the local musical arts and broaden community appreciation for music based on noble and spiritual values.
The programme was organised by PORT (People of Remarkable Talent) with the support of various agencies, including the Perak State Government, Ipoh City Council (MBI) and the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) Perak.
The Nasyid Concert: From Traditional to Contemporary not only presented the beauty of Islamic melodies and vocal artistry, but also served as a platform to revive nasyid music as a modern medium of dakwah that is fresh, relevant and unites society via divine messages and universal human values.
