THEATRE STAGING OF ROYAL ARTIST DATUK LAT’S “KAMPUNG BOY”

IPOH, 15 NOVEMBER 2025 – The theatre staging of Royal Artist Datuk Lat’s Kampung Boy” was held in a lively atmosphere at the Perak National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) Complex Auditorium.

HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim graced the event.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad and State Secretary Dato Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim were also in attendance.

Also present to enliven the occasion was Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah, who gave full support to efforts in strengthening the performing arts and creative heritage of Perak.

The programme also successfully attracted the attention of local art enthusiasts and lovers.

The staging of “Kampung Boy,” adapted from Datuk Lat’s iconic work, successfully brought to life the nostalgia of village life with touches of humour and noble values that are close to the hearts of Malaysians.

Such efforts are believed to be able to continue to uphold the cultural arts and strengthen the heritage identity of Perak.
