IPOH, 12 NOVEMBER 2025 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) received a working visit from the Perak National Audit Department for a preliminary exposure session regarding Smart City projects that have been and are currently being implemented by MBI for the period from 2022 to 2025.

This initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen accountability and transparency of governance, in line with preparations for the 2026 Audit Plan to be implemented by the National Audit Department.

Among the main projects highlighted were:

  1. Smart Traffic Analytics & Recognition System (STARS) – to improve traffic control efficiency and road safety;
  2. UNCDF (United Nations Capital Development Fund) International Cooperation Programme – which channels international grants to accelerate Smart City transformation and sustainable development in Ipoh.

This step not only strengthens MBI’s internal management system, but also ensures that every Smart City initiative provides direct benefits to the people, improves quality of life and realises the aspiration of making Ipoh a Smart, Green and Prosperous City by 2030.

The project information briefing was delivered by MBI City Planning Assistant Director Abdul Afiq Muhammad.
