WORKING VISIT BY MINISTRY OF FINANCE (MOF) MALAYSIA TO UTC PERAK TO REVIEW STATUS OF INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADING AND MAINTENANCE PROJECTS
IPOH, 1 JULY 2025 – A delegation from the Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF) conducted a working visit to the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) Perak today to review the status of the infrastructure upgrading and maintenance projects at the building.
This visit was a follow-up to the allocation of RM1,789,150 by MOF for upgrading works, along with an additional RM300,000 specifically for the maintenance and improvement of public amenities at UTC Perak.
The MOF delegation was led by Strategic Financial Control Division Secretary Norazizati Hamzah, together with Division Deputy Secretary Zainudin Suleiman, Governance Rating Section Head Zeti Arzura Tajul Ariff, Engineer Ahmad Darwin Ezahan Abdul Hamid and Administrative Officer Fatin Nublah Mohamad Ishak.
Among the scope of upgrading and maintenance works carried out are:
a) Repair of escalator facilities;b) Waterproofing works on the building’s roof;
c) Replacement of air conditioning systems for agencies operating in the building;
d) Relocation and modification of the Public Service Commission (SPA) Interview Centre from Lot 29 & 31 to Lot 42 & 43;
e) Renovation of the Health Clinic and Dental Clinic at the original SPA site.
The working visit began with a welcoming session by Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah, who warmly greeted the Ministry of Finance delegation. Next, a technical briefing was delivered by MBI Works and Buildings Director Ir. Ts. Arif Mohd Zainudin, before the delegation was taken to inspect several upgrading and maintenance work locations, accompanied by the Facilities Management Department.
This visit served as an important indicator of the transparency and close monitoring of project implementation, besides opening up space for more constructive discussions between the Ministry and Ipoh City Council (MBI) towards continuous improvement of facilities and quality of service delivery to the people.
MBI extends its highest appreciation to the Ministry of Finance Malaysia for its continued support and commitment in enhancing the UTC Perak facilities, in line with the goal of providing integrated services that is efficient, people-friendly and making a positive impact on the residents of Ipoh in particular, and the people of Perak in general.
As the only UTC in the state, all upgrading efforts undertaken are very significant and are believed to continue bringing great benefits to the local community.
